Os Gemeos recently arrived to Vancouver where they are currently working on a huge project for Vancouver Biennale.
Today, recognized and admired both nationally and internationally, the artists utilize this combined visual language, improvisation and a sense of playfulness to intuitively create a variety of projects worldwide.They have held numerous solo and group shows in museums and galleries in several countries such as Cuba, Chile, the United States of America, Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Lithuania, and Japan. OSGEMEOS, translated as “The Twins”, Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo, have worked together since birth.
A proposta da Bienal tem uma forte conexão com esculturas, por isso os artistas optaram por um espaço no qual a pintura pudesse se transformar, criando um diálogo entre os mundos bidimensional e tridimensional, e levar os personagens a Vancouver, a fim de dividir perspectivas e culturas e estabelecer uma conexão com as pessoas que frequentam a região, integrando a obra ao cenário.
OSGEMEOS (also known as Os Gemeos or Os Gêmeos, Portuguese for The Twins) are identical twin street artists Otavio Pandolfo and Gustavo Pandolfo (born 1974).
OSGEMEOS participam da Vancouver Biennale, que acontece entre 2014 e 2016, com um mural 360º, de 20 metros de altura e mais de 2.000 m². The artist are gonna be painting six gigantic silos that are part of the Ocean Concrete manufacturing and distribution plant on Vancouver’s Granville Island. They started painting graffiti in 1987 and their work appears on streets and in galleries across the world. They believe in the encounters and experiences that life offers are natural and delicate.
For the Vancouver Biennale, OSGEMEOS created a monumental, 360-degree, 21-metre- (70-foot-) tall mural, the biggest public mural of their career to date and their public artwork debut in Canada. OSGEMEOS participam da Vancouver Biennale, que acontece entre 2014 e 2016, com um mural 360º, de 20 metros de altura e mais de 2.000 m². Criado em seis gigantescos tonéis, a obra está ao lado dos célebres Public Market, Emily Carr University e False Creek, pequena enseada que separa o centro do restante da cidade, em Granville Island.
With the encouragement of their family, and the introduction of hiphop culture in Brazil in the 1980s, OSGEMEOS found a direct connection to their dynamic and magical world and a way to communicate with the public.
